DVD X Player is one of the few, true region-free DVD players. This software can automatically detect and bypass region locks, making it the player of choice if you own DVDs from more than one region. You can also set the software up to skip the FBI warning screen and you can rig up a projection TV or on another TV-based device to view your movie on DVD X Player.

Feature Set:  

This software has several popular features including the ability to play movies directly from the hard drive, run wmv files, mpeg video, mp3 audio and the ability to select an unlimited number of VOB files (Video Object files). You may also save a movie snapshot as a bmp image. You can bookmark places in a movie for a quick return to your favorite scene. You can even customize the appearance of the control panel by changing the skin (the theme, or look of the control panel).

Ease of Use:  

DVD X Player is simple to navigate. The control panel features can be accessed through your computer mouse. Also, you can easily control the camera angle, audio settings, subtitles, chapters, titles and more.

Ease of Installation:  

The setup process requires you to register with a username and serial number after installation. The installation was a bit more complex than that of other DVD player programs.

Video Quality:  

The video quality of DVD X Player is very good, offering high-strength, smooth playback and a high quality picture. DVD X Player is optimized for many of the top computer CPU processors, including Intel, MMX, and AMD. The program allows you to select from several display options as well, including letterbox, pan & scan, widescreen or normal format.

Audio Quality:  

DVD X Player has multi-channel support, including Dolby Pro Logic II, S/PDIF and Hi-Fi audio. The Dolby Pro Logic II allows you the luxury of surround sound with only two speakers. The S/PDIF allows the transfer of audio from one file to another without the time-consuming conversion to and from analog-a step that sometimes degrades the signal quality. Hi-Fi audio processing boosts impression, allowing for a higher quality sound. Multi-channel support improves the overall audio quality of the DVD X Player system.
